Image Quality Indicators (IQI's)

Radac’s use of the very best materials and manufacturing techniques combined with rigorous quality control throughout the production process ensures that Radac Image Quality Indicators are free from defects.

Our range of Image Quality Indicators are available in European, DIN, ASTM & ASME Standards.

Manufactured in the United Kingdom in our own factory to exacting standards, by controlling the production process end to end we can ensure that quality can be assured.

This attention to detail has meant over time that Radac’s Image Quality Indicators have become the industry benchmark standard.

Each EN-747-87a type indicator consists of a series of seven parallel wires of different thicknesses and 10, 25, 50 or 100 mm long mounted between two thin sheets of transparent, flexible PVC.

A lead monogram indicates the number of the thinnest and the thickest wires, the material and includes the DIN symbol. These indicators are available in Steel (FE), Aluminium (AL), Copper (CU) and Titanium (TI).

A full range of Radac EN 462-1 type indicators are available in both 5 mm and 2.5 mm wire spacing see page 30 of our catalogue for further details.

Radac ASTM E747-87a / ASME SE747-97 a type indicators are also available in Inconel 600 alloy.

All Radac wire type Image Quality Indicators indicators have a unique serial number for Quality Assurance purposes and full audit traceability.

For each serial number we maintain full records of the wire type, actual measured wire diameters and date of manufacture.

EN 462:1 type indicators can be supplied in wallets, with individual conformity certificates or without wallets and a general certificate of conformity.

Each material is for use against its corresponding material and alloys, for example the aluminium indicators are for use with aluminium and its alloys.

Audit Traceability

All RADAC Image Quality Indicators have a unique individual serial number for Quality Assurance and Audit. purposes and ensures we can trace measurement records and date of manufacture. RADAC EN-462-1, DIN 54 and ASTM 757 type Image Quality Indicators can be supplied in wallets, with individual certificates of conformity or without wallets and a general certificate of conformity.

  • 1MM EN, containing wires 1 – 7

  • 13MM EN with wires 13 to 19 ( where MM is the metal – FE,AL,CU and TI)

RADAC EN-462-1 Image Quality Indicators have  an encapsulated lead monogram which indicates the material, set wire thickness and displays the EN symbol.

The full range of RADAC EN-462-1 type indicators in all material types are available in wire lengths ranging from 10 mm through to 100 mm in length and with a wire spacing of either 5.0 mm or 2.5 mm.

All RADAC EN-462-1 Image Quality Indicators have a clearly displayed individual unique serial number for Quality Assurance and Audit purposes.

For every RADAC EN-462-1 Image Quality Indicator produce  we maintain full records detailing the serial number, material type, the actual measured wire diameters and the date of manufacture.

RADAC EN-462-1 Image Quality Indicators can either be supplied in wallets, with individual certificates of conformity  or without wallets and with a general certificate of conformity . RADAC Individual certificates are separate displaying the serial number, wire size, wire type, date,  and the standard of the corresponding IQI located in the wallet. RADAC General Certificates of Conformity display the individual serial numbers, wire sizes, wire types, date, and the standard for the IQI’s in your order.

RADAC Individual certificates are separate displaying the serial number, wire size, wire type, date,  and the standard of the corresponding IQI located in the wallet. RADAC General Certificates of Conformity display the individual serial numbers, wire sizes, wire types, date, and the standard for the IQI’s in your order.

  • Set D only available in 50mm wire lengths.

RADAC ASTM E747-84a Image Quality Indicators have  an encapsulated lead characters which indicates the material, set wire thickness. The letters ASTM are also displayed.
